Mark Pecen is the Chief Operating Officer of ISARA Corporation. As chairman and founder of the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) Technical Committee Cyber working group for the Quantum Safe Cryptography (Cyber QSC) industry standardization group – located in Sophia Antipolis, France – Pecen has helped to create the entirely new industry of Quantum-Safe Cryptography. This is a type of security that is resistant to attack by next-generation quantum computing platforms.
Pecen is a retired senior R&D executive at BlackBerry, Ltd. Previously at Motorola, he was awarded the title of Distinguished Innovator for his role in developing wireless technology and standards. He is an investor and advisor to several companies, and advisor to the Canadian government and European Union in the areas of ICT research, and technology standards.
An inventor on more than 100 fundamental patents in wireless communication, networking and computing, Pecen is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
