Jan Hofmeyr serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Network Officer for Comcast. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of the network, communication platforms, cloud and reliability engineering to deliver industry-leading video, high-speed data and voice services for both residential and business customers.
Jan joined Comcast in 2009 as Vice President, Product Delivery, and then served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the X1 Platform—Comcast’s next-generation video platform. He led the cross-functional teams—hardware, software, services, operations and deployment—that developed and launched XI, and oversaw the wide scale growth and deployment of X1 to customers across the Comcast footprint. The X1 platform is now licensed to several cable providers in the United States and Canada.
Prior to joining Comcast, Jan held leadership roles at several technology companies, including Entriq, where he served as Executive Vice President, and Microsoft where he served as Director of TV Strategy in the Windows organization.
Jan earned a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. Hofmeyr received Microsoft’s IP Leadership Award.
